My name is Kat McBride, I'm 23 and I live in Leigh, Lancashire in England. I live with my boyfriend of 4 years and we moved into our house in December 2014, very new home owners. We have a German Shepard puppy named Albie who is nearly four months old and a cat called Magic which came with the house.
I want to start blogging about my new idea and crafty project which is fairy houses and gardens. Not sure if this will take off but I'm going to give it a go. I really love to make and create things and since we've moved into the house I just haven't wanted to do anything creative, till last week when this idea just popped into my brain and 5am.
I actually do have a jewellery business which is currently on hiatus at the moment, here's the link to my etsy shop https://www.etsy.com/uk/shop/KatsAdorableTreasure?ref=hdr_shop_menu, but lately I've lost my mojo to make jewellery, I need a new project. Apart from jewellery, I crochet and make things for my family and friends using amigurumi patterns I find on the net. In the future I would love to upcycle furniture, as I've fallen in love with Annie Sloan Chalk Paint.
All in all I'm a serial hobbyist. So who knows if this latest project will stick.
Up until to now I've been creating a Pinterest board which has been feeding my interests for fairy gardens and all things magical. https://www.pinterest.com/katmcbride/fairy-gardenhouse-ideas/
Lots of things I have read about use everyday objects to create these gorgeous fairy gardens, which I think is amazing. That's what I want to do! It would be so cool to create a magical fairy home out of a cardboard box that someone could get enjoyment out of.
I've already decided that my first project will be a fairy garden for my manager at work, as she is in love with everything fairy. I've just got to decided whether to use an old terracotta plant pot or find an adorable cup and saucer (an idea which I saw on Pinterest). Then after I've finished that I'm going to make a fairy home for my best friend. I've not told her about this so hoping it will be a nice surprise.
I'm so excited to start this project I just hope I have the patience and determination to see it through. Everything I do will be posted up on here and anyuseful links, tips, videos or tutorials will also be uploaded.
Eee can't wait to start!
Kat x
